Hand dyed hand spun silk/fine goat down (laceweight)

Handspun in the traditional way by hill farmers in the mountainous regions of the Ukraine, this yarn has a magical quality. Gossamer-light yet warm and strong it is hard to believe anyone could spin such a fine thread by hand. Debbie's latest hand dyed yarn range includes some semi-solid shades as well as some lovely hand painted hues. Semi-solid shades are single colour yarns, but, because they are individually hand-dyed, they still have subtle variations in shade within the skein, making them just that bit more special.

Please note this yarn is handspun so each skein will vary slightly. Also as the yarn is hand spun in a traditional way it is likely that you will find some extraneous vegetable matter spun into your yarn. Any such bits will either fall out when you are knitting or can be gently removed by hand.

Our hand dyed yarns are individually hand dyed by Debbie and supplied as skeins. Variation between skeins is part of the charm of these unique yarns as no two are alike. We recommend that you knit hand dyed yarns in imaginary stripes, switching between skeins approximately every three to four rows for the best effect.
