All about yarn substitution - part two

The January 2007 issue of Simply Knitting magazine is in the shops now and it contains part two of Debbie's article "All about...substituting yarns".

In part one of the article Debbie explained how to substitute one yarn for another of the same kind. The second part of the feature moves on from this to cover situations where you might want to subtitute a yarn different to the one stated in the pattern.

In the "All Change" section Debbie explains what to do if you have a pattern for a pure wool jumper but want to knit it in acrylic for a wearer with sensitive skin. If you are feeling creative "Spicing It Up" shows you how to add a bit of pizzazz to a plain garment by introducing a second texture or fibre.

Simply Knitting magazine is published by Future Publishing and is available at all good newsagents. If you would like to subscribe to this magazine please call 0870 837 4722 or go to www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk
