Hand dyeing workshops in Dumfries and Derbyshire |
||
Our workshop with the Dumfries and Galloway Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers was an amazing day. Participants came with armfuls of exotic yarns and fibres from the four corners of the earth and we had great fun experimenting with colour and techniques with some wonderful results. A special thank you to Linda for putting us up overnight and for a lovely veggie lasagne. We've been promised some photos of the finished yarns so keep checking our Gallery! May also saw our first Hand Dyeing for Beginners workshop held at the Woolgathering gallery in the gorgeous village of Eyam in Derbyshire. The workshop covers hand dyeing using Kool Aid and Procion dyes and lots of our scrumptious undyed yarns. Participants have had great fun trying out some easy techniques and got to take away all the yummy samples they had made. Visitors to Woolgathering gallery even got an impromptu dyeing demo! Our thanks to Deidre Gage who runs Woolgathering for sharing her lovely studio and for making us feel really welcome. |
