Wonderwool Wales |
||
May was a busy month for us with new workshops, new products and an exciting new show: Wonderwool Wales. With its venue in the beautiful town of Builth Wells, near Powys, Wonderwool is in its second year and looks set to become a popular event with all textile enthusiasts. We were certainly kept busy and were glad to retire to our cosy rented cottage at the end of the day! In addition to lots of lovely textile goodies, visitors could enjoy demonstrations of sheep and alpaca shearing, listen to fascinating talks and take part in workshops. The Wool Marketing Board and a number of sheep breed societies were on hand to share their wealth of knowledge and there was even a woolly fashion show which attracted lots of oohs and aaahs from an appreciative audience. Judging by the bags of fleece being carried around I hope we shall be welcoming lots of new handspinners to our spinning and weaving guilds! Next year's Wonderwool will be on 26 and 27 April so make a note in your diary – there's so much to see in the area, why not make a weekend of it! |
