All About... Edgings Part 2 |
||
The second part of Debbie's series on edgings is in the October issue of Simply Knitting magazine which is in the shops now. Last month, in part one, Debbie showed some of the many types of edgings which can be added to your knitting and looked at when to use them, why you should use them and how to choose the right edging technique for a particular project. In this month's article Debbie covers edgings that are added after the main knitting has been done. Beginning by reviewing some simple ways to utilise existing stitches from your work, the article moves on to consider how a provisional cast-on can give you extra freedom to design creative edgings. Debbie also explores the possibilities offered by edgings created from picked up stitches and the benefits this versatile technique has to offer. Simply Knitting magazine is published by Future Publishing and is available at all good newsagents.
