All About... Double Pointed Needles Part One

From socks to cushions and hats to doilies, knitting in the round is a great skill. Given the current trend for funky socks you'd be forgiven for thinking that everyone finds knitting with four (or five) needles at once a breeze. But even many seasoned knitters have yet to master this useful skill.

The very idea of juggling all those short, pointy needles while simultaneously following a pattern can seem daunting - particularly if you've only recently mastered two needles! So is knitting in the round really a dark art or can anyone tackle the mystery of the turned heel and the grafted toe?

The simple answer is that anyone can learn to knit with double pointed needles and in her new how-to series Debbie Tomkies helps you to master them. Part one of the new three part series is in the January 2008 issue of Simply Knitting magazine which is in the shops now (yes we know it's still 2007!).

Simply Knitting magazine is published by Future Publishing and is available at all good newsagents. If you would like to subscribe to Simply Knitting please call 0870 837 4722 or go to www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk
