New felted patterns from Artesano designed by Debbie Tomkies

You may have noticed that Debbie's blog has been a little quiet of late. This is because she has been beavering away on a very exciting design commission for Artesano. Keeping it quiet was a real challenge so we're really delighted to be able to tell everyone about the new collection.

Debbie has designed nine projects which are knitted then felted in the washing machine. The designs use Artesano's newest two yarns, a pure alpaca DK and a 50/50 alpaca/wool aran-weight blend.

• Celtica is a sumptuous cushion cover, decorated with an i-cord Celtic motif.
• Special Delivery (Debbie's personal favourite), is a messenger bag, ideal for a laptop or college files and books.
• No Plastic for Me is a large tote, knitted in entrelac, with a mid-length shoulder strap.
• Harlequin is a funky playmat which neatly doubles up as a toy storage bag.
• It's a Wrap is a stylish needle roll, perfect for holding those irresistible Brittany needles.
• To keep your knitting (and the tv remote!), close to hand, Curl Up and Knit is a practical, funky armchair tidy.
• Keep your little one warm with Debbie's bold and stripy Cosy Tot buggy liner.
• Ho! Ho! Ho! adds a bit of festive fun with an embroidered Christmas stocking.
• And to keep you toasty on long winter walks Deb's Fuzzy mittens are sure to get you noticed!

At least we'll be able to do some washing in our washing machine now as it isn't being used for felting!
