Let's Knit Appealing Alpaca

We were delighted when Let's Knit magazine chose Debbie's hand dyed alpaca nylon sock yarn for the "Appealing Alpaca" feature in their April 2010 issue. Made of fine British alpaca with a dash of nylon for added strength our exclusive alpaca nylon yarn is perfect for socks but also knits up to most 4 ply patterns. Each skein is individually hand dyed to order by Debbie Tomkies to create a truly unique yarn. Let's Knit chose our "I Can Sing A Rainbow" colourway and there are 25 others in the range so there's a shade for every occasion! To see all our fabulous colours please click here The Incas called alpaca "the fibre of the Gods". Because it contains no lanolin (the waxy substance found in wool which can cause allergic reactions) alpaca is the perfect choice for children or those with sensitive skin. Alpaca is good at absorbing moisture because its fibres are semi-hollow - this makes it a great choice for spring when the weather is so changeable as it keeps you warm in cold weather but dry and fresh when things hot up. It's also delightfully soft and snuggly! Let's Knit magazine is available in all good newsagents and the March issue is in the shops now.
