Hand-dyeing for beginners using Kool aid and synthetic (Procion) dyes Have you ever wondered how those lovely, hand-dyed yarns are made? Would you like to be able to create your own, unique yarns, bursting with vibrant colour? Come along to our friendly, fun, one-day introductory course and see for yourself how easy it is! We start the day playing with Kool Aid, producing solid shades and a range of fun samples. We then move onto colour blending and dip-dyeing. In the afternoon we learn about dyeing with synthetic (procion) dyes and experiment with yummy rainbow dyeing, yarn painting and other fun techniques. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as for those who simply want to brush up on their skills or just have a fun day out playing with colour! So, whether you're a knitter, spinner, crocheter, felter or textile artist, you're sure to have a great time! All materials are provided and you will go home with a lovely range of colour samples, rainbow-dyed yarns and lots of ideas for adding colour to your textile adventures! The workshops run from 10am - 4pm and cost £40. £10 deposit is payable to reserve your place with the balance due one week before the course date. Venue: The Scout Hall, Woodbourne Road, Sale, Cheshire How to get there: The hall is accessible by public transport, being a short walk from Brooklands metrolink station and with regular buses from Manchester City Centre and surrounding areas. The hall is a short drive from the M56 and is close to the M60 and M62. We will send you full details with your booking confirmation.
