Hand spun silk/fine goat down (laceweight) |
||
When we first saw this yarn it took our breath away! Gossamer-light yet warm and strong it is hard to believe anyone could spin such a fine thread by hand. Handspun in the traditional way by hill farmers in the mountainous regions of the Ukraine, this yarn has a magical quality. If you ever wondered what Rapunzel spun from her golden tresses we think this would have been it… Suggested needle sizes: 1.75mm – 3mm Uses: Ideally suited to the finest shawls and lacework. Prepare to be amazed! Please note this yarn is handspun so each skein will vary slightly. Also as the yarn is hand spun in a traditional way it is likely that you will find some extraneous vegetable matter spun into your yarn. Any such bits will either fall out when you are knitting or can be gently removed by hand. |
