Our undyed 100% alpaca aran yarn is simply huggable! A feather-light yarn carefully spun to give a cabled appearance, giving the yarn strength but without weight. This undyed yarn is beautiful in its natural colour but it looks equally beautiful dyed with our acid, procion mx (fibre reactive), natural or indigo dyes. It has a soft halo which makes it ideally suited to soft, muted colours.

Uses: This yarn is ideal for baby blankets and garments where a more chunky effect is needed but which is still light and soft. It is very comfortable, even against the skin. This yarn should substitute for most aran patterns and is a good alternative for those who like the look of cables but find the finished garments rather heavy. It has a lovely drape, making it suitable for wraps, stoles and scarves.

Care instructions: We recommend handwashing this yarn. Do not tumble dry.

Top tip:

‘If you are hand-dyeing this yarn and are looking for a deeper shade, make sure you ‘cook’ it to a high temperature as the colour intensifies with the heat. It is surprisingly tolerant of heat, just be careful not to overhandle while it’s hot and allow it to cool completely before rinsing in warm water’.
