£4.00

Availability: 21 in stock (can be backordered)

Ferrous lactate is produced from lactic acid obtained by fermentation of renewable materials from the sugar / starch industry.
This new mordant can be used on any fibre for dark shades. Certified compliant to GOTS 6.0.

Ferrous lactate can be used as follows:

As a colour modifier in natural dyeing

To create interesting rust effects in eco-bundling, eco-printing, contact printing

As a mordant in natural dyeing (use at 1-3% on weight of fibre)

Please note:  Ferrous lactate can make fibres rough and can damage fibres so use sparingly and limit contact with fabric to just as long as necessary to achieve the desired results. Use at 1-3% on weight of fibre (WOF) to avoid fibre damage.

Keep left over ferrous lactate solution in a sealed glass jar for re-use and strain with a coffee filter paper to remove any particles.
