Earthues natural dye extracts |
||
|
For those who have not used Earthues products before, these fantastic natural dyes have all the benefits of natural dyeing but, as they are supplied in powder or paste form, they avoid the need to boil and strain leaves and roots or grind up bugs and barks! Suitable for use on any natural fibre, Earthues dye extracts give an excellent range of fully intermixeable shades and can be used for a wide variety of dyeing techniques, including rainbow dyeing, yarn painting, ikat and tie-dye. Please note that Earthues Indigo extract can not be used for rainbow dyeing and must be used following the normal methods for Indigo. If you have any questions about Indigo dyeing please contact us Earthues natural dye extracts can be successfully mordanted with alum or aluminium acetate (used in food production) and they are sustainably sourced on a fair trade basis from small producers all over the world. Used on their own or combined with our native plants, they really are an invaluable addition to any natural dyer's dyestuff cupboard. A free instruction leaflet is supplied with purchases of Earthues natural dye extracts. For more in-depth information on hand-dyeing techniques with Earthues dyes we would recommend Michele Whipplinger's Natural Dye Instruction Booklet available from our Books section.
