Description
Our natural dyestuffs are sustainably sourced and wherever possible we buy direct from the landowners. They are 100% natural and can be used on all natural fibres.
We use alum (aluminium potassium sulphate) to mordant (fix) animal fibres and aluminium acetate to mordant plant fibres.
‘Colour modifiers’ can also be used with natural dyestuffs to extend the colour range and create amazing new shades. By carefully combining the modifiers it is possible to produce over 40 shades with madder for example! Try citric acid, sodium carbonate, copper sulphate or ferrous (iron) sulphate.
All our natural dyestuffs are supplied with a simple instruction leaflet. We also have our ‘Back to Nature’ kit – a great introductory kit to get you started!
