Hue & Dye is our own brand range of natural dye extracts to complement and extend the Earthues colour palette. 100% natural, straightforward to use and kind to the planet, Hue & Dye extracts allow you to enjoy all the benefits of natural dyeing but, as they are supplied in powder or paste form, there are no leaves or roots to stew, or bugs and barks to grind! Suitable for use on any natural yarn or fibre, Hue & Dye extracts give an excellent range of fully intermixeable shades and can be used for a wide variety of dyeing techniques, including rainbow dyeing, yarn painting, ikat and tie-dye. Hue & Dye extracts can also be used in conjunction with Earthues extracts. Please note that Indigo and Woad extracts cannot be used for rainbow dyeing and a vat-dye method should be used. An instruction leaflet for vat dyeing is available when purchasing Indigo or Woad. If you have any questions about Indigo or Woad dyeing please contact us Hue & Dye natural dye extracts can be successfully mordanted with alum or aluminium acetate (used in food production). Used on their own or combined with our native plants, they really are an invaluable addition to any natural dyer's dyestuff cupboard.
