Create a hand-felted bowl – In person workshop 20 September 2022 (evening)
In this fun Make & Take workshop you’ll be dyeing your own, unique hand-felted bowl in your choice of colours.
Debbie will be demonstrating some simple techniques and showing you how to create your bowl. You can then choose from a range of Debbie’s gorgeous wool fibres and threads to make your own bowl. Embellish with stitch, beads and threads if you wish and take home your at the end of the evening!
Course level:
- This event is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who want to brush up their skills or just enjoy a couple of hours making a lovely felted vessel!
What you will learn:
- How to set up your space, what equipment and materials you will use and how to prepare your fibre for felting
- The essential principles of wet-felting – what types of felting methods there are, what fibres you can felt and how the fibres are used
- How to create a 3D piece of felt and shape into a bowl or similar vessel
- Adding embellishments
- Finishing your bowl
You will need:
Nothing! Debbie will provide a wide range of coloured fibres, threads and embellishments. All the equipment and materials are also included so just bring yourself!

Debbie loves to teach and has been a felter for over 15 years so you’ll be able to pick her brains for tips, tricks and hacks!
Debbie’s sessions are fun and enjoyable. The pace is relaxed and there is plenty of time to ask questions and chat.
About Debbie
Debbie has been a textile artist for over 30 years. Debbie teaches wet and needle-felting, nuno felting and mixed media textiles.
Debbie is the author of 5 internationally published books, Hand-Dyed Yarn Craft Projects, Complete Knitting Skills, 250 Knitting Stitches, Knitting.Learn it.Love it and How to Knit.
When she’s not felting, dyeing, designing, knitting or crocheting, you’ll find her in the garden, tending her dyeplants, enjoying a nice craft beer or hugging a big mug of builders’ tea. And if you’re out and about, she can often be found in the mosh pit at a gig or enjoying some folk music!
