Professional finishing techniques – 12 July 2025 A4 Studios
Have you ever finished a project only to put it back in the cupboard whenever you’re thinking of wearing it because it just doesn’t feel ‘right’? We’ve all been there! Puckered seams, gappy necklines, lumpy shoulders and wavy edgings are all common problems that can be resolved with a few simple tips and techniques. Debbie will be showing you these techniques and how to make your knits runway ready!
What will I learn?
- Creating great seams using mattress stitch
- Joining shoulder seams for a smooth finish
- Picking up stitches for tidy edgings
- Neat necklines
- Choosing the right cast on and cast off
- Throughout the day Debbie will also be sharing a wide range of tips and techniques for making up garments to make every knit a project to be proud of.
A little homework is required for this workshop which will be outlined in the pdf information sent to you after your booking confirmation. These swatches can be knitted using any DK oddments.
You will need:
Please bring your knitting essentials – A pair of 4mm knitting needles, a bodkin/knitters/tapestry needle for sewing up, stitch markers, stitch holder, scissors.
